Art is everywhere waiting to be revealed. As a photographer trained both in photojournalism and in the fine arts, I focus on documenting intimate portraits of the environment. My work reflects a desire to see what is often overlooked or even seen as inconsequential and reveal it. My hope is to engage viewers to see art’s endless possibilities and perhaps to communicate the spirituality of nature. 

 I have always been drawn to nature, especially the elements that make up the landscape. Recently I have been investigating the movement within the elements and how they interact and shape their surroundings by exploring the interplay of light, patterns, and tones, and the abstract imagery they can create. 

 The approach to my work is through the unknown exploration. Each venture I take I do not have a specific goal in mind, but for the intention to discover. Whether it is a place I have been many times before or somewhere new, the elements are always different and changing. I am always looking and most often it is the light that directs my eye. I do not digitally manipulate my images, what I create is done in the camera with basic post-processing, similar to what I did in a traditional film darkroom. In many of my images, I use the technique of long exposures to express the motion. The results can be surreal and even ethereal. I believe my images can be pathways into a unexpected depth of the natural world.
